ADOPTED:_________________________

ADOPTED 12/28/08 by the Kabluyen Family in Hesperia, CA!

They call him "Marv", and he still answers because it sounds the same as Mars. He goes camping with them, patiently ignores their little pug puppy, and has figured out how to get his head in the mini-doggie door (for the pug) to reach in & inconspicuously take her toys! He's doing great!

MARS!!

Mars is a rescue from the Hesperia Animal Control.  He is about 3yrs old, great with other dogs, cats, kids, you name it!  Mellow is the word for Mars. He has basic obedience training and is a very polite guy.  We're still trying to put some weight on him. He came to us at less than 80lbs. He has been checked out by the vet, is microchipped, has been de-wormed.  He has been an absolute JOY to have around the house this month! He has great hips (I couldn't believe how good his x-rays were!) and a very even temperament.  He is protective, but will desist upon your first word.

Kloe -- ADOPTED 12/22/08 by the Pabustan Family in Fontana, CA!

Kloe has an amazing story! I originally adopted her from the Lafayette, Indiana animal shelter as a puppy (and had her micro-chipped).  She was with me through the remainder of college, and through the move to Pasadena, CA and then Hesperia, CA.  About 4 months after we moved to the High Desert, someone took her from out in front of the house November 2006.  Needless to say, I was quite distraught- she had been with me for over 5 years!  I was at Animal Control several times a week for MONTHS asking if anyone had brought her in.  Never any luck...

This December 2008, Hesperia Animal Control called me-- they had Kloe!  Someone had found her roaming the streets and dropped her off!! No one could quite believe it!  But it sure is a case for micro-chipping you dog!!

She was still the Kloe-- friendly but shy, little and sweet..only now 7 years old and a little chubby!  So I brought her home.. and it was clear that we had both moved on in life.  She knew me, and kinda knew the house.... but I could see it in her eyes-- "What the heck are these big slobbery things doing here?!"  She had no interest in the other dogs that I got after she was gone.  She just was not happy being home again. She avoided the other dogs at all cost.. she would barely eat, never wagged her tail, and would just lay on the bed all day.  So, I started asking around to see if anyone could give her a happier home...

..and I found a great family-  a co-worker!  They were going to get their boys a puppy for Christmas, and were looking for a smaller dog.  They had never raised a dog before, and I knew Kloe would be perfect!! She loves kids and is already trained! It's a great match!  The boys love her, feed her, & take her for walks.. and she waits by the door for them to get home every day! They are now trying to teach her "roll over"...who says an old dog can't learn new tricks?!

TILLY-- ADOPTED 05/08 by Aaron in Seattle, WA!

Tills, as I call her, walked right up to my fence one day... totally unafraid of the barking big dogs! Seeing how cute she was, I took her to Animal Control, thinking that someone was surely looking for this little gal.  As it turned out, no one was.  It looked like she had been used (and used up) by a breeder, and had a terrible uterine infection that was so advanced she was literally days away from death.  Animal Control took her in for the operation.   Then they called me... no one had claimed her, so I did..  she spent a couple of months at my house, then had a big adventure flying in a plane up to Seattle.  These days, she's pretty much spoiled rotten. She goes in the car all the time (her favorite thing!), eats too many table scraps, lays by the fireplace, and gets taken on LONG walks to the doggie park!
